Earn money taking online surveys.
There are a couple of things to check when signing up to surveys. I break them down below with the reasons why you shouldn’t skip these steps.
Before signing up for a survey check your eligibility
Some surveys want specific people, ‘ 25-year-old woman who works from home’.
If you’re a woman in her 40s and you still sign up, you may never be approved to complete any of the surveys on the site.
So always check who the surveyors are looking for and if you fit.
Complete your profile and screener survey.
Most survey sites will give you the opportunity to complete your profile or a screener survey. This is your opportunity to tell them about your characteristics.
For example, your age, your interests, where you live, or what type of job you do.
This is an important step to complete.
By completing this step, the survey site will have all your details to match you easily with surveys you can actually contribute to.
Have a functional email address.
Most Survey sites will send eligible surveys to your email. Make a dedicated email address for surveys. Make sure you check regularly.
It’s important that these emails are not getting lost in your spam folder.
You don’t want to miss the opportunity to meet your daily earning target. Since joining Swagbucks and I get regular emails of opportunities I can contribute to. And it’s great to see the emails as soon as they pop into my dedicated Gmail.
Sign up to multiple survey companies
Some survey companies will only send you opportunities a few times a month. Therefore, to increase your chances of earning a decent amount of money each month, you can sign up to multiple survey sites.
Once you have multiple options to choose from, you can decide to complete only the surveys you feel are worth your time.
How to find legitimate online survey sites
1. Do your research
Type into google, is “X survey” legit? Just a simple search will save you from getting scammed. You’ll see answers and reviews from others who have tried before you.
2. Is a survey site asking you to pay a fee?
Never pay upfront. Read Terms and conditions in great details before signing up. They may say FREE* on the front page but *means you get to pay something after signing up. Always read the fine print.
3. Make sure you understand the mode of payment.
Cash, gift cards, reward points you can exchange for cash and prizes are some of the common payment methods on survey sites.
I have not found any issues with the first three, but prizes usually have too many terms and conditions attached and may not be worth your while or even useful.
It’s better to know exactly what you’re going to get and cash really is the safest bet.
4. Check the minimum payment amount
Another important thing to look out for is how much you need to have gained in order to get a payout.
Some survey sites like swag bucks have their minimum payout as low as $5.
Others have a minimum payout of $150 which means you may only get paid once a month.
5. Look out for age restrictions
Teenagers can complete surveys but always check for the minimum age restriction before participating to prevent your effort from not being rewarded.
